Galloway National Golf Club, located in Galloway, New Jersey is seeking a motivated turf manager to join their dynamic golf course maintenance team. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the overall success of our facility while working closely with the management team and staff.

Galloway National Golf Club is a private, world-class, 18-hole championship golf course designed for the serious golfer. World renowned architect Tom Fazio meticulously crafted Galloway National’s 7,000 yards out of a 200-acre tract of heavily wooded, gently sloping bayside property.

The modern design clubhouse at Galloway National offers uncompromising function and form. The upstairs dining room presents a breathtaking view over the tree line featuring Reed’s Bay and the Atlantic City skyline. Downstairs, the patio, conference room, and Pro Shop look down on the 18th fairway.

Scott McBane, golf course superintendent, has mentored and developed three individuals to golf course superintendent roles. His goal is to continue developing future generations to prepare for golf industry roles. Galloway National would be considered a “teaching facility.”

Club highlights:

  • Rounds of golf: 17,000
  • Irrigation system – Rainbird
  • Equipment type – Mix fleet of John Deere, Jacobsen, Toro; all purchases
  • Maintenance staff – 27-30 in season, 13-15 off-season
  • Typical work schedule: Monday through Friday, 8-hours; weekends – rotating weekends; 1 weekend a month they receive a 3-day weekend

  • Oversee the scheduling of property, equipment, and resources, with a focus on optimizing efficiency and quality control.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of organizational processes and procedures, leveraging your expertise to drive positive change.
  • Take an active role in daily operations, including crew scheduling, course setup, irrigation system maintenance, and application of plant protectants and fertilizers.

Key Skills, Knowledge, Aptitude, and Other Traits:

  • Solid background in golf course maintenance, including equipment operation, course setup, bunker maintenance, irrigation management, and landscaping.
  • Understanding of how daily operations impact the golfing experience.
  • Ability to lead small teams effectively, ensuring safety, productivity, and quality standards are met.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proactive approach to sharing information with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Proficient in pesticide and fertilizer application, record-keeping, and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Familiarity with irrigation system repair and maintenance, as well as hand-watering techniques.
  • Strong follow-up on assigned tasks and a commitment to excellence.
  • Adherence to established policies and procedures, serving as a role model for others.
  • Comfortable using larger equipment such as skid steers and tractors

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $55,000 – $75,000, DOE

Preferred Qualifications:
